Balance Patch #1

We've previously rolled out balance changes in one larger update, which has the benefit of potentially shifting the meta around and making the game more interesting in one fell swoop. However, the drawbacks of having to wait for months between each one, and the unpredictability of changing a slew of cards at once, means that it can feel like we aren't listening to you as players, and can dilute the intention behind the balance updates. As a team, we have made the decision to move towards more focused and frequent balance "patches", as and when problem decks begin to appear that make gameplay less fun, or if a collection has been left in the dust and needs some support that a card release won't bring about well enough.

So,

Heat Death of the Universe:

WAS: :draw: Your cards, wherever they are, with 7 or more Base Energy cost -3 Energy this round and your cards, wherever they are, with 4 or less Base Energy cost +3 Energy this round.

NOW: :draw: Your cards, wherever they are, with 7 or more Base Energy cost -2 Energy  for 2 turns and your cards, wherever they are, with 4 or less Base Energy cost +2 Energy  for 2 turns.

King Midas:

WAS: :draw: Your opponent's Legendary cards in hand cost +3 Energy for 3 turns.

NOW: :draw: Your opponent's Legendary cards in hand cost +2 Energy for 3 turns.

Crooked Forest:

WAS: :return: If your deck has 4 or more Tremendous Trees cards, your opponent's Legendary cards, wherever they are, cost +2 Energy for 5 turns.

NOW: :return: If your deck has 3 or more Tremendous Trees cards, your opponent's Legendary cards, wherever they are, cost +3 Energy for 3 turns.

Zheng Yi Sao:

WAS: :draw: If your deck has 9 or more Plundering Pirates cards, your Riding the Waves!, wherever they are, gain +15 Power  permanently and vice versa.

NOW: :draw: If your deck has 8 or more Plundering Pirates cards, your Riding the Waves!, wherever they are, gain +15 Power  permanently and vice versa.

Lu Dongbin:

WAS: :play: Your Chinese Folklore cards, wherever they are, gain +10 Power until played.

:return: For every Eight Immortals card you have played this game, give this card +10 Power until played.

NOW: :play: Your Chinese Folklore cards, wherever they are, gain +10 Power until played.

:return: For every Eight Immortals card you have played this game, up to a maximum of 10, give this card +10 Power until played.

Zhang Guolao:

WAS: :play: If your deck contains all of the 8 Immortals, give your 8 Immortals cards +14 Power permanently.

NOW: :play: If your deck contains all of the 8 Immortals, give your 8 Immortals cards +10 Power permanently.

These changes will be live in time for the start of the next League at 11AM UTC!
