F-22 Raptors and Spanish Galleons

First of all… HAPPY NEW YEAR!

We’re sailing into 2026 armed with far too many resolutions, a worrying amount of chocolate-induced heartburn, and one thing that never changes: new CUE content. Before we take a peek at what’s going on next week - and the reason for this slightly premature news post - we’ve got a fighter-jet-shaped heads-up for you.

The Fighter-Jet Shaped Heads Up...

The new card, F-22 Raptor, opens up a lot of interesting deck-building challenges - but secret abilities have decided to crash the party. Boooo!

If you’re having trouble getting the card to activate, it’s likely your deck includes a card with a secret ability that pushes you just over the limit of 10 cards with on-play abilities. A bit of a mouthful, we know - but keep an eye out for notorious party crashers like Supermassive Black Hole and Richard the Third while we figure out the best way to handle them.

Dropping Next Week - Spanish Galleon

Spain looked at the carrack – expensive, slow, insufficiently terrifying – and said "we can do better." Then they made the Spanish Galleon: cheaper, faster, and bristling with more guns than seemed physically reasonable.

Keep an eye out for a brand-new Riding the Waves card arriving next week.

The Week Ahead

League climbers will face a Gauntlet Energy ruleset next week, so smart pacing is key if you want to go the distance. As for anyone dreaming of a Bugs + Fabulous Fish combo (surely not just me?) - next week has your name on it.

Energy Start - 180
Energy Per Turn - 0
Energy Minimum - 7
Energy Maximum - 250

Featured Collections (+100 power): Carnivores, Aztec Mythology, Bugs, Fabulous Fish, Japanese Folklore, Hidden Gems.

Bots behaving… better?

Just before the end of the year, we rolled out an update aimed at improving bot matchups. We’re hoping for more deck variety, fewer brick-wall encounters, and - fingers crossed - a lot more fun.

We’d love to hear how it’s feeling so far, so if you’ve got thoughts, jump into our Discord and let us know!
