Fish, Schooled

Dan

I'll get to today's releases in a bit, but first, picture the scene.

It's a lazy Thursday in the CUE office. Raining outside. We've got some easy listening coming out of Alexa, and I'm leaning back dangerously in my chair, staring at the ceiling, wondering what percentage of all the subjects on CUE cards I could take in a fair fight (generously, 4%. 5% if I'm allowed a run-up).

Then Toby pipes up and says "Dan, how come Feisty Fish has a Piranha in its logo but the Piranha card is in Fabulous Fish?"

Ten hours, one trip to A&E and 2% knocked off my estimations later, we've got a plan to move ten cards from Fabulous Fish into Feisty Fish on Monday next week.

Don't worry about the rings and collection logos in this graphic, they'll be sorted when we make the shift. Have faith!

There are actually two real, boring reasons we're doing this. One is because we're planning on doing a Feisty Fish pack and we need to bulk it out. The other is to do with cataloguing things correctly. Behind the scenes we've had a good, long think about where we've got cards in the wrong place, and we felt like these ten cards made more sense in Feisty Fish:

Piranha
Scorpion Fish
Blue Marlin
Lionfish
Wels Catfish
Bluefin Tuna
Sailfish
Stargazer Fish
Puffer Fish
Great Barracuda

Of course, this means that all the basic cards in that list will become Limited! It also means that some fusion recipes will be changing at the same time:

Oriental Flying Gurnard x19 + Anthias x18 + Copperband Butterflyfish x1 = Queen Angelfish
Ox x12 + Sandro Botticelli x5 + Dimetrodon x20 + Caishen x20 = Sun Tzu
Dione x20 + Radar x10 + Black Hole x20 + Raphael x3 = Giant GRB Ring
Postosuchus x3 + Pythagoras of Samos x7 + Olive Trees x20 + Protoceratops x20 = The Triassic Period

UPDATE (19:23 BST 22/10/2021) - a few people have asked what this means for (and I have to be vague here so I don't spoil the secret) the crafting recipe that requires one of those cards. Rest assured, it'll be taken care of - a new card will take its place, and the clues have been re-written so you can figure out which one it is!

These changes will be taking place on Monday 25th October. And now, Today's releases!

Who could have predicted we'd do a Nostradamus card? Anyone, pretty much. Of course CUE, with it's love of history's oddballs and (alleged) shysters would eventually get to the master of the broadly-interpretable prognostication himself. His ability will LOCK his card for 6 turns - plenty of time to make a cup of tea, maybe consider what percentage of all the subjects on CUE cards you could take in a fair fight, before you unleash a devastating 5/200 on your opponent!

It, and three more new cards, are available in today's Abra Cadabra curated pack, filled with all kinds of magical and mystical cards from across the CUE collection!
