If you’ve been taking mountains for granted lately, we’re here to put an end to that. The theme of this year’s International Mountain Day, run by the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the Unity Nations, is “Mountain solutions for a sustainable future – innovation, adaptation and youth”.
Climate change affects more than you might think, especially in mountain regions which are home to some of the richest biodiversity on the planet, and the FAO highlights the importance of involving young people in long-term adaptation strategies to deal with increasingly harsh conditions, especially for mountain communities.
