On the measurement of worlds (and smuggling of cats)

What a month. Green Game Jam was a wild ride; a big thanks to everyone who joined in and helped raise real money for the Rainforest Alliance. It reminded us why this community is the best. Speaking of which: July's nearly here, and we've got some big stuff lined up… let's take a look:

What a savings

You spoke, we listened. From Monday 12pm UTC, the Shining Armor pack is 65 Gems instead of 75. Enjoy!

Mythics, recalibrated

Some of CUE's older Mythics are due a tune-up, and we want your voice in the room. So, we've opened a brand-new #balance-feedback channel in the Discord where you can share your ideas. We'll be reading, collating, and folding it all into the patch.

Coming soon: the CUE Quiz

If you've ever felt like your card knowledge deserves recognition… stay tuned. A quiz is in the works, giving you the chance to win cool stuff (details forthcoming, patience appreciated).

Fun Fact of the Week

In 1919, the R34 airship made the first east-to-west transatlantic flight by any aircraft. Two passengers weren't on the manifest: crewman William Ballantyne, who'd been ordered off to save weight, and his cat, Whoopsie. When they revealed themselves mid-flight, Ballantyne was put to work pumping fuel by hand. Whoopsie was put to work...being a cat.

The original Beta tester

This week's new Limited Legendary, Eratosthenes, calculated the circumference of the Earth around 240 BC using a stick, a shadow and a report about sunlight in a well. Incredibly, he was off by only a few percent! He also coined the word "geography" and ran the Library of Alexandria. Still, his contemporaries called him Beta – second-best at everything. Tough crowd…

Coming your way this week…

Cast your gaze upward with Watching the Skies, own the catwalk with Fancy Fashions and walk among the philosophers of Ancient Greece. Crawl about with Bugs, climb into the cockpit with Awesome Aviation, and dust off some fossils with Ancient Creatures.
