The cat's out the bag!

Lot's coming to CUE this week: your Mythic feedback goes live, Theseus finally shows up (with his terrible track record), and we open the case files on both the Aztec crashed saucer and one very committed Antarctic seal.

Off we go...

Balance patch: served

You spoke, we listened. Loads of great suggestions came through the balance-feedback channel in Discord, and as a wise man once said, you've got to give the people what they want. This week, 16 Mythics get a makeover.

If in doubt, the answer is always cats

This week's new Limited Rare, the Ray Cat, is what happens when semioticians take radioactive waste very seriously. In 1984, two academics proposed genetically engineering cats to change colour when exposed to dangerous radiation, then embedding them in folklore, songs and myths so future civilisations would know to steer clear. Nuclear semiotics' finest hour.

Fun Fact of the Week

Ever noticed the thick crimped edge of a Cornish pasty? It wasn't decorative. Cornish miners gripped it while eating and chucked the crust away as their hands were often coated in arsenic. Another tradition says they left crusts for the Knockers, mischievous underground spirits. Either way: it's always sensible to keep the supernatural onside.

Coming your way this week…

Walk among the gods in Greek Mythology, then dive with the Ocean Mammals. Set down on distant worlds in Planetside, feel the ground shake with the Forces of Nature, sniff out the truth in Hoaxes and Cons, and take root in Plant Life.
