Very, Very, Very, Very...

Paul

[IMPORTANT: BOT UPDATE UPDATE... see below!]

-----

At 5pm UTC, four new extremely cool cards are arriving with the Quarter Pounder pack (if we do say so ourselves).

The very, very, very, very (you get it) old Huehuecoyotl gives Coyote +25 Power wherever it is, until Round 5 where it can pick up +70 Power when played alongside it!

Add Magnetar to your deck with the new Neutron Star to save Energy for an already great Power per Energy ratio.

Rush forth with ambition with the Tarot’s Knight of Swords and give this card +40 Power for each turn you win while in it’s in hand until the end of the round (maxing out at 6/160), or -100 Power if you lose, you reckless barbarian.

Or if you’re playing your Top Athropods (ie. your Bugs and/or Crustaceans), play Jaekelopterus (we just call him Jake) to give them all a massive +25 Power for the whole round.

There’s also the chance to pick up some incredibly terrifying/super cute critters etc in the Flora & Fauna pack at 3pm UTC, with a Guaranteed Limited Rare or Higher from Life on Land.

BOT UPDATE UPDATE.

Yesterday we upgraded bots so that they learn how to build decks based on other CUE players.

Thanks to everyone who has provided feedback so far - it’s really helped us to understand what’s working well and where we can still improve things. A couple of adjustments we’re making imminently (i.e over the next 24 hours) are:

  • Accelerating the speed with which match-making adjusts.

The bots you are matched with are based (primarily but not exclusively) on a skill rating - similar to something known as the Elo system.

As you complete games your rating adjusts, and so does the matchmaking.

The upshot is that the most painful part of the process will be the initial adjustment (that is happening right now). We are making some changes to accelerate this adjustment so any frustrations should be relatively short-lived.

  • Removing unreasonable objectives.

While there is no single ‘meta’ deck, we do recognise that at any given time one or two mono album decks are unlikely to be contenders at the higher levels. As such those ‘Win a game with a pure Paleo deck’ objectives will be removed.

Given that it is more challenging to get a win now, we are also lowering the ‘Win X games/Gain X shields’ objectives.

Those are all the changes for now. Thanks for your patience while the adjustments take place in both casual and league!
