Ancient Astronauts

Despite its intrigue, the Ancient Astronaut Theory remains just that, with mainstream scientists arguing it disregards the ingenuity of ancient human cultures.

Isn't it weird how ancient civilizations managed to build impressive structures like the pyramids with no modern technology? I'm not saying it's aliens, but... this forms the crux of the Ancient Astronauts theory, popularised by Erich von Däniken’s 1968 book, "Chariots of the Gods?".

Von Däniken suggested that many ancient marvels were too advanced for their times, implying they were the result of alien technologies. Prominent figures like Zecharia Sitchin expanded this theory with tales of the Anunnaki, ancient deities from Sumerian lore who were supposedly extraterrestrial visitors. These theorists scrutinise ancient texts, artefacts, and architectural wonders, claiming them as proof of alien contact.

Despite its intrigue, the Ancient Astronaut Theory remains just that—a theory, with mainstream scientists arguing that it disregards the ingenuity and resourcefulness of ancient human cultures.
