If you love plants but can’t be trusted to keep one alive, try growing a Cashew Nut Tree – these trees grow like weeds and will give you a healthy snack in return.
A tropical evergreen plant, the traditional cashew tree can grow up to 14 metres in height – just keep in mind that it takes three years from planting before it starts producing fruit.
But the cashew nut is not the only fruit of the cashew tree. In fact, the nut itself is only a part of the cashew apple, a juicy but acidic fruit that leaves a furry feeling in your mouth.
Native to north-eastern Brazil, the cashew tree can be found in tropical climates in many parts of the world.
