Max Planck

One of the founding fathers of Quantum Theory, Max Planck was a Nobel prize-winning theoretical physicist whose work changed our understanding of the world forever.

Before Planck, it was assumed that everything in our world abided by the basic laws of traditional physics.

Then, physicists began to study the world of the ultra-small. As Max Planck began to study particles, he discovered new laws by which electrons, light waves and atoms were ruled.

Using just five constants in nature (length, mass, temperature, time and charge), Planck set a maximum limit for the universe, beyond which the laws of physics break.

Planck’s constant is often defined as the fundamental physical constant characteristic of the mathematical formulations of quantum mechanics.
