This is Somnium, a 17th-century fever dream written by none other than astronomer Johannes Kepler.
A 14-year-old Icelandic boy named Duracotus gets yeeted to the Moon via demon power, where he watches Earth spin from afar. This is the general gist of Somnium, a 17th-century fever dream written by none other than astronomer Johannes Kepler.
Part allegory, part autobiography and part treatise on interplanetary travel, Somnium was the first serious scientific treatise on lunar astronomy - and some say it's the earliest example of science fiction. The first draft was written in 1608, but it wasn’t published until 1634, after Kepler’s death.
Since the boy’s mother is the one who communes with demons to make lunar teleportation happen, people drew... conclusions. In real life, Kepler’s own mother was accused of witchcraft, and Somnium nearly got her burned at the stake.
