Known as the "Tiger of Kai", Takeda Shingen is the samurai warlord who could have written the book on ‘How to Win Feudal Battles and Influence People’. Locked in a legendary rivalry with Uesugi Kenshin, Shingen’s famous quote “Swift as the wind, quiet as the forest, aggressive as fire, and immovable as a mountain” pretty much sums up his approach to life and war.

But more than a warrior, Shingen was a skilled administrator, pioneering land reforms, agricultural advancements, and trade growth. In a 1573 campaign, he led a massive 30,000-strong army into Tokugawa territories - but he wouldn't live to see out the year. Was it an old injury, a sudden bout of pneumonia, or was it murder most foul? The true cause of Takeda Shingen's death remains a mystery.
